Produced and engineered by the legendary John Cornfield (Muse, Oasis, Stone Roses), British rock trio Wideboy Generation release their debut album “No Time To Be Shy” on July 16th, 2012.

Wideboy Generation are Joe (lead guitar/vocals), Aidan (bass/vocals) and Jamie (drums).  The trio of 20 year olds – all from Hertfordshire and Essex, are self described as “hustlers, wideboys, like the rest of our generation,” formed the band just over a year ago, claiming that “poverty and boredom lights a fire under our arses.”

Kicking off with dates-for-mates in local pubs, Wideboy have swiftly progressed to selling out key venues such as the Barfly in Camden. They headlined the 100 Club in May and are scheduled to play the London Lexington and the Leeds Cockpit among other top venues throughout 2012.

Debut Wideboy single “Looters!,” taken from the “No Time To Be Shy” album, was released earlier this year as a free mp3 download from www.wideboygeneration.com and racked up 41,000 views on YouTube. Soon after, they released their single “Sylvia” which made a significant impact by generating over 87,000 YouTube views. The single received radio play in the UK, Germany, the US and Portugal, with the group described as “one of the most exciting bands at the moment!”

These initial singles have drawn critical comparisons to The Jam, Buzzcocks and Green Day, whilst cuts like title track “No Time To Be Shy” display a harder, anthemic edge.  Other tracks such as ‘Get Up, Get Out,’ which is for many the stand out track of the album, draw inspiration from classic films such as Fight Club and display a darker, riffier direction, highlighting the band’s flexibility and musicality.

Wideboy’s live gigs are fast-becoming as legendary as their travelling fans, who have been described as  “the best looking crowd in rock ‘n’ roll,” and Joe claims that “They certainly know how to party.   Girls love it.  Boys love it.  We love it.”
