Upcoming rock n roll band Winchester Revival have released their latest electric single titled Born For The Road which is available to hear on all streaming platforms. With screaming guitars and a nod to the blues, this four piece band honour rock n roll with their latest release and aim to bring it back to the popular music scene.
To understand the band is to understand them: each member and what makes them tick. The band is made up from four members who are all equally passionate about the music they make. Lead singer and guitarist Jackson has a passion for valuable and sensitimeal guitars, as he uses a 90’s built Krammer as his main instrument of choice for the majority of shows. Rhythm guitarist Jack Dylan is well known for his left hand guitar skills and chooses to follow in the footsteps of his idols, choosing a more basic guitar. Multi- instrumentalist Josh is a key player to the band as he specialises in bass, drums, violin and keys, adding a mixture of sounds to the band when recording. Last but not least, Dane is Winchester Revivals drummer who has a passion for beats and his Joey Jordison signature snare .
Speaking out about the industry, Jackson comments on what inspired him to go into songwriting and the music industry stating ‘I’ve always felt like I was born into the wrong generation, never felt at home with bubble gum pop, cheap lyrics, or marketable opinions. Give me a guitar, an amp, and a crowd of rowdy people in need of a release and I’m sold.’
The story behind the bands under current is inspiring and youthful, with Josh opening up about his experiences – ‘Ever since the start of primary school, I can distinctly remember two things: music and bullying. I used to come home crying more times than not, because of someone taking my stuff, or bullying me at lunch time. But the other irreplaceable memories I have are the tunes my parents used to play on the drive home; classic rock, country, and everything in between. And as I progressed through school, people used to bully me less and less once they found out I played instruments. They saw what a unifying force music could be; and I’ve seen that I can instil passion and drive into the lives of many’.
